Medical gases supporting the quality of hospital care
NOVAIR supports healthcare facilities with autonomous medical gas production and management solutions. From source to patient, each solution is designed to ensure continuity of care, optimize operating costs, and meet the regulatory requirements of the hospital sector.
Producing oxygen on site: a response to the safety, economic, and environmental challenges faced by healthcare facilities
Ensure autonomy and continuity of care
NOVAIR enables every facility, large or small, in urban or remote areas, to become its own supplier of medical oxygen. This autonomy is crucial and valuable in an unstable world, and is now within everyone’s reach.Â
Reduce operating costs
The conventional supply (bottles, liquid gas) involves multiple costs: delivery, rental, stock management, losses related to evaporation or unconsumed gas. On-site production reduces operating costs by up to 60% compared to traditional solutions.
Environmental impact
By installing an oxygen generator, hospitals and clinics improve their carbon footprint: the constant deliveries of liquid gas or gas cylinders by trucks polluting our atmosphere are simply eliminated. Measured and proven carbon savings. Discover the comparative LCA of the oxygen generator.

The example of Ajaccio Hospital Center
After seven years of construction, the new Ajaccio hospital, located on the Stiletto site, is fully operational and has been welcoming patients since 2023. Covering an area of nearly 60,000 m², this new-generation hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a fully autonomous medical oxygen supply provided by NOVAIR oxygen generators.
These devices guarantee patient safety and continuity of care for all critical hospital activities, while eliminating dependence on external deliveries and strengthening the facility’s resilience in the face of logistical uncertainties.
Capable of producing oxygen with a purity of up to 99.5%. This plant continuously supplies 330 beds, 9 operating rooms, and a hyperbaric chamber, ensuring safety and continuity of care 24 hours a day.
The system includes a backup source and an on-site oxygen cylinder refilling system, providing the facility with immediately available reserves.
The equipment is installed in ISO containers attached to the hospital, offering a modular, compact, and scalable solution. This installation is part of an ongoing collaboration, based on a solution identical to the one provided for the Eugénie Annex more than 10 years ago.
Other examples of installations
Hospital expansion: freeing up space by replacing the liquid oxygen tank with rooftop production
In Aubervilliers, the European Hospital of Paris underwent an extension and restructuring project. This complex construction was carried out on a constrained site in a very dense urban area. The liquid oxygen system previously supplying the hospital was replaced by two containers equipped with oxygen generators, installed on the building’s rooftop. This solution made the extension works possible by freeing up the space required for the construction of the hospital’s new wing.
- Two oxygen generators in containers: on-site production from ambient air, complete autonomy for 265 beds
- Space saving: removal of the liquid oxygen tank, surface released for a new building
- Secure supply: continuous supply of all hospital services
A high-performance NOVAIR installation, designed for a healthcare facility in the heart of the city
The Eure Specialized Medical Institute (IMSE) in Louviers is a facility dedicated to medical care and rehabilitation. Located in the heart of the city, it was inaugurated in June 2024 after three years of construction. The IMSE has 133 beds and 36 day hospital places. The facility is equipped with the latest innovations in medical technology and has chosen NOVAIR for its autonomous oxygen supply. The complete installation includes:
- Two Premium 95% PSA Twin Tower medical oxygen generators ensure continuous and secure oxygen production directly on site.
- The on-site cylinder filling system allows 10 to 100 cylinders to be filled daily at high pressure (150 to 200 bar), directly from the generators.
- A NOVAIR medical vacuum unit completes the installation, ensuring reliable and continuous suction for medical care and procedures, in accordance with hospital requirements.
Medical oxygen autonomy for a leading hospital in China
As part of the fight against COVID-19, the first hospital in Hohhot, in Inner Mongolia, called on NOVAIR to guarantee the autonomy of its medical oxygen needs at a site of 1700 beds.
- 3 Premium 700 generators: first installation to secure supply from the start of the pandemic
- 2 P620 generators added in 2023: increasing production capacity in response to rising demand
- Total autonomy: the hospital covers all of its medical oxygen needs without relying on external deliveries
