On-site medical oxygen production: an autonomous and eco-friendly response to increased oxygen needs
published on 08/18/2025
With the Covid-19 pandemic still raging, healthcare facilities are facing growing demand for oxygen to treat patients. In this report filmed at the Novair production site in Roissy and at the site of the future Ajaccio hospital, scheduled to open in 2021, France 3 interviews Samuel Kuczenisky, Hospital Engineer at Ajaccio Hospital, who explains the many advantages that led the newly built hospital to install on-site oxygen production. In terms of benefits, the installation will enable the hospital to be supplied with the amount of oxygen it needs, resulting in customized consumption and therefore greater savings. In addition, there is a safety benefit as staff will no longer need to handle oxygen cylinders. With on-site production, the risk of hose breakage when connecting cylinders is avoided.
